Why Do We Study?
“AI can answer everything now.
So do we still need to study?”
Many people ask this question.
But I once heard a sentence in a video that really stayed with me:
“Education is a kind of magic that lets you enjoy the world for free.”
Studying is not only for exams.
It raises the “resolution” of the world.
If you know physics, a sunset looks different.
If you know history, movies become much more interesting.
If you learn a language, you can have deep conversations without AI — like when I talked with a foreigner I met in a sauna.
The world is the same.
But your experience becomes richer.
Without education, enjoyment often depends on strong stimulation or money — drinking, parties, shopping. Of course, those are fun.
But if that’s the only way to enjoy life, it becomes expensive and shallow.
With education, you can enjoy:
Reading and discovering new ideas
Walking and thinking about what you see
Having deep conversations with AI
Low cost. High depth.
AI can give answers.
But humans must decide what to ask, what feels wrong, and how to use the answers.
Studying is not about competing with AI.
It is about keeping control of your own life.
We only live once.
Instead of living shallow, why not live deep?
Education may be the best return on investment in life.
