The name YOKARO is derived from the trade name once used by my great-grandfather. We carry on the family pride and tradition, embarking on new challenges in a new place.

I chose the path of cooking because I strongly wished to become a chef who moves people's hearts.
With that thought in mind, I also embarked on the journey of becoming a chef.

We have taken root here as pioneers of the still rare 'soup curry' in Hanoi. The most crucial thing for soup curry is the 'soup'.
Therefore, we dedicate ourselves passionately to making the soup.

We carefully extract broth from chicken and pork bones and several kinds of vegetables over ten hours. Every drop is infused with our time and passion.
Essential too are the spices. Our soup curry blends 17 types of spices in perfect balance to bring out depth and aroma.

And there is one more thing we cherish, and that is 'being loved in this place'.
That's why we use only ingredients that can be sourced in Vietnam. We are grateful for the local blessings and strive for a taste that resonates with the people of Hanoi.

'Had the strength today because there is YOKARO's soup curry,' we wish for everyone to feel that way, and we will continue to make each plate with heart.

Mr. Okazaki, the owner of “Okachan Shokudo,” who boasts about 20 years of experience in Japanese cuisine, created his signature dish “soup curry,” inspired by the allure of spices. Its popularity gave birth to the specialty restaurant YOKARO. With ten years of training at a Japanese restaurant in Ginza, Mr. Okazaki pursues a unique flavor based on solid technique. The name “YOKARO” is inherited from the name of a shop run by his great-grandfather.
