Bun Cha Huong Lien, famously visited by former US President Barack Obama in 2016, is a restaurant near Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi. It is known by the name "Bun Cha Obama."

Bun Cha originates from Northern Vietnam, and its hometown is none other than the capital city of Hanoi. For a long time, Bun Cha has become a refined culinary characteristic of this historic land. A delicious bowl of Bun Cha is a combination of tender white rice vermicelli made from rice, flavorful and well-marinated grilled pork patties and pork slices, grilled over charcoal. There are two types of pork patties served in Bun Cha: minced pork patties and pork sausage balls, both made from fresh and tasty pork. The dipping sauce adds the right taste to the dish, with a balance of sour, salty, sweet, and slightly spicy flavors lingering on the taste buds. All these flavors combined are enough to captivate the hearts of both local residents and first-time visitors to the capital.

Bun Cha Huong Lien, also known as Bun Cha Obama, became well-known because former US President Barack Obama visited during his trip to Hanoi. Now, not only locals but also many foreign tourists come to the restaurant. Bun Cha Huong Lien not only serves delicious Bun Cha but also provides a spacious and clean indoor space. Additionally, the hospitable services are appealing.

After being chosen by President Obama, the Bun Cha restaurant still operates in a small 5-story building on Le Van Huu Street and has opened another branch on Lang Ha Street in Hanoi. The menu of the restaurant includes individual servings of Bun Cha, as well as additional options like fried spring rolls and grilled pork skewers.

Each serving of Bun Cha at the restaurant currently costs between 40,000 and 50,000 dong. The accompanying dishes such as seafood spring rolls are priced at 30,000 dong/piece, and crab spring rolls are priced at 7,000 dong/piece.
"Bun Cha Obama" has now become a sought-after dish by many diners and a favorite destination for Hanoi locals who love traditional Bun Cha.
